I love this scripture, because for those of us who have mistakenly believed that Christians should be quiet and just try to get along with everyone no matter what is happening -- it gives us permission and really instructs and corrects us by saying that the lovers of God, because of righteousness will have the boldness of a young ferocious lion. It is righteous to be bold and it is for the sake of righteousness and seeing righteousness expand in society that we must be bold. So for all of you who have lived biting your tongue when it comes to evil -- probably not many in this feisty audience -- it’s time to speak up and do it boldly while we still can. The time to rise up in fierce, powerful boldness for the sake of righteousness because you love God -- is now.
