”Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer. I am in deep trouble. I’m broken and humbled, and I desperately need your help. Guard my life, for I’m your faithful friend, your loyal servant for life. I turn to you in faith, my God, my hero; come and rescue me! Lord God, hear my constant cry for help; show me your favor and bring me to your fountain of grace! Restore joy to your loving servant once again, for all I am is yours, O God.“
We all have times when trouble seems to overwhelm us and we feel completely lost and alone it. Engulfed by it. If you’re there now, call out to the Lord for a life raft. He is our Creator, the One who loves us more than anyone else, and He is our life saver, our rescuer. He’s where our help comes from. He will give us what we need, and He will be what we need to get to the other side of our circumstances. The danger is in allowing ourselves to be so isolated and overwhelmed that we drown in the trouble or the pain. We must call out to Him for help as David did. We must remind ourselves that everything is temporary, and this too shall pass. He will not only bring us out of it, but He will even restore our joy as we rely on Him fully to help us.
In Psalm 91:15 the Lord promises us this -- He says, I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel My presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast. You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you, for you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation.
He will not only bring us out of it, but He will even restore our joy in our lives again. We simply have to pray and rely on Him and trust Him to help us.
