#316 Making Sense of Our Skies w/ Serge Brown

”Now it’s time to be made new by every revelation that’s been given to you. And to be transformed as you embrace the glorious Christ-within as your new life and live in union with him! For God has re-created you all over again in his perfect righteousness, and you now belong to him in the realm of true holiness. So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the truth, for we all belong to one another.“

As the Lord brings new revelation, it is an act of obedience, humility and submission to allow ourselves and our minds and our expectations to be re-shaped and changed by it. It may cause us to speak differently or to view situations and people differently. If we are one with Christ and yielded to Him, then we should be like clay in the hands of an expert potter. Our lives and our mindsets are to be continually re-created and continually reshaped to be in alignment with His will and with the truth He reveals to us. This is the ongoing process in the life of a follower of Jesus. Verse 25 goes on to say, discard every form of dishonesty and lying so you will be known as one who always speaks the truth. I think more common among Christ followers is not so much overt lying to others - the bigger trap is lying to ourselves to protect a belief or a relationship or a situation from the scrutiny of Holy Spirit and the requirements for change that His searching may bring. This is why it is so important that we get into and remain in that mode of complete submission -- like clay in the hands of the potter -- with no part of our lives out of bounds -- and ask Holy Spirit’s light of truth to search our hearts and reveal anything that needs to be changed. Jeremiah 17:9 says it this way, “the human heart is deceitful above all else.” Well, the only cure for that is continual submission to the reshaping and searching of the Lord and repentance when the light is shed on what needs to change.
