#291 The Depths of Treason in America w/ Ryan Matta

The title of this Psalm in The Passion Translation is Fearless Faith.

”The Lord is my revelation-light and the source of my salvation. I fear no one! I’ll never turn back and run, for you, Lord, surround and protect me. When evil ones come to destroy me, they will be the ones who turn back. My heart will not fear even if an army rises to attack. I will not be shaken, even if war is imminent.“

This morning I was thinking about this idea of King David being the warrior - worshipper his whole life. I was thinking about that because the Lord has been speaking to me about the spiritual war that we’re in. And one of the main weapons of our spiritual warfare is worship. The Lord talks about it as warfare worship. It is worship that changes the atmosphere, that causes demons to flee; and it is worship that sets the conditions and opens the door for the Lord and His angels to tear down strongholds and depose wickedness in high places. In the natural it seems like going to war and singing praises to God are very separate and almost opposing actions. But in the spiritual realm, it is undeterred, unrelenting, unafraid worship that opens the door for the Lord to move. Worship brings the Presence of God. That’s why David was such a successful and valiant, fearless warrior -- because He invited the Presence of God into his life continually. He acknowledged and sought after the Presence of God continually. And that kind of worship changes your perspective. It caused David to rise up in boldness and say, if the Lord of All, the Creator of Heaven and Earth is with me, whom shall I fear? His answer to himself here in Psalm 27 as he lived as an example to all of us was, I fear no one. So my charge to all of us today is to get into a mode of continual worship and conversation with the Lord. This will empower us to live boldly and fearlessly because our worship invites the Lord’s Presence, and we will be able to confidently face whatever comes our way.
