”Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.“
This passage must be the original source of the Apostle Paul’s admonition to in the book of Galatians to not grow weary in well-doing. It’s a great encouragement to be diligent in the work the Lord calls us to do, because just as the farmer doesn’t know which plantings will succeed, we don’t know what projects will succeed. Since I’m with the attorneys here this morning, we don’t know which cases will succeed. We don’t know which lives will be changed for the better by our efforts. We don’t know who is one kind word away from turning to the Lord. But we do know this -- if we don’t but forth the effort, if we don’t try -- it won’t happen because of us. And it may not happen at all. Be diligent in your purpose today, and don’t allow yourself to give up -- because the work the Lord has called you to do matters.
