”Lovers of truth follow the right path because of their wonderment and worship of God. But the devious display their disdain for him. The words of a proud fool will all come back to haunt him. But the words of the wise will become a shield of protection around them.“
Proverbs 14:2-3 TPT
This scripture is something we are seeing play out in the news daily. And I pray and believe this is something we see more and more and more of happening -- that those who love truth aren’t making wrong turns or wrong decisions, because their love of the Lord is both guiding them and protecting them. And those who are devious show open disdain for the Lord. We know the Lord won’t be mocked, so their day is coming if they don’t get their hearts right with God. Those who are proud fools -- of which it seems we have no shortage of in high political offices right now -- will be haunted by their own words. But the words of the wise will become a shield of protection around them. That reminds me of all of the hoaxes planned for President Trump - his perfect phone call with Zelenskyy, his speech to his supporters on January 6 to protest peacefully and patriotically. Time and time again, his own words have protected him -- even though the wicked have tried to twist them against him. Let’s be praying and declaring this passage over our nation this campaign season and especially over President Trump.
