”What a glorious God! He gives us salvation over and over, then daily he carries our burdens! Pause in his presence“
”God, we are consumed with awe, trembling before you as your glory streams from your Holy Place. The God of power shares his mighty strength with Israel and with all his people. God, we give our highest praise to you!“
As I was reading this chapter this morning, I was convicted by these passages, because I don’t spend enough time in awe of the magnificence and majesty, the greatness and the power of the Lord. These verses challenged me to not just focus on the personal one-on-one relationship with my Creator, but to zoom out and dwell on His vastness, His greatness and His power.
As I spend time doing that, my personal relationship with the Lord becomes even more amazing and its something to be in real awe of, because the God of the universe, the Creator of Heaven and Earth -- the one who holds everything together and through whom everything that has been made was made speaks to me. He cares for me. He left Heaven and His throne to come to Earth to stand in my place, take on my sin, guilt, shame, disease and die for me. He conquered death for me and opened the path to salvation for me. He strengthens me and He carries my burdens. It is absolutely incomprehensible, yet even a child can understand it and receive it. Dwell on the vastness of the Lord today. It will refresh your perspective on your life and your circumstances. Allow yourself to be amazed by the Lord and swept up in the wonder of Him.
