“So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. That is our lot in life. And no one can bring us back to see what happens after we die.”
We can get so caught up in the news, the actions of each political figure and the horrible things going on in the world that we feel paralyzed and depressed. But Solomon’s point here is so true. We’re all only here for a short time. We need to find the joy of the Lord in the work that we do. That is what gives us the strength of body and mind to keep going. Let me encourage us all today, find joy in your work. We are winning. God wins and we are on the winning team. Of course we need to keep going, but let’s do it from the overflow of the joy of the Lord rather than grinding it out with gritted teeth one day to the next. We are supposed to be having fun! We’re on the winning team, and that is the most fun place to be.
